Job Title: BIM Coordination Engineer (Site Based)
Location: Frankfurt, Germany (10/4 Rotation)
Hours: 38 hours per week (Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday: 8:00am-3:00pm)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Reporting to: Head of Operations / Head of BIM
Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a market leader in the building services sector, delivering cutting-edge prefabricated and sustainable energy solutions across the UK and Europe. Due to ongoing growth in the Data Centre sector, we are seeking a Site-Based BIM Coordination Engineer to join the project delivery team on a high-profile site in Frankfurt.
This role plays a key part in coordinating and validating the onsite installation of MEP systems in line with approved BIM models. You will work closely with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure installations are fully coordinated and delivered to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site Validation
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress and alignment with project schedules
- Validate the integration of structural, architectural, and MEP works with the approved BIM model using AR-enabled tablet software
- Identify and report potential clashes or discrepancies to relevant stakeholders
Design & BIM Model Validation
- Review and validate design coordination models for offsite prefabricated MEP modules and on-site installations
- Assess installation feasibility and sequencing as per BIM coordination
- Participate in model coordination meetings to resolve any design issues
Collaboration with Site Teams
- Develop strong working relationships with site-based BIM and design teams
- Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders
- Support installation teams with model-based project information and setting out
Quality Control & Approvals
- Review the quality and compliance of installed prefabricated MEP modules
- Ensure fixings, supports, and penetrations are correctly positioned as per design
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare detailed reports on findings, issues, and recommendations following site visits
- Maintain clear communication with site and head office teams
Technical Design Compliance
- Identify and document any technical or regulatory requirements that may impact installation and commissioning
- Ensure coordination of compliance items such as fire ratings and service access
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a BIM role within an MEP environment
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Naviswork
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Fluent English speaker with existing right to work in Germany
Desirable:
- Relevant third-level qualification
- Knowledge of building services, architectural or structural design
- Experience managing full project lifecycle from concept to completion
