About the Role:


We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join a leading engineering and construction team working on a state-of-the-art data centre project in Sweden. This role will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering aspects of the project, ensuring efficient design, installation, and commissioning of all mechanical systems in a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering tasks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Work closely with the Project Manager, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

  • Review and interpret mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Provide technical support and problem-solving expertise for mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and fire suppression systems.

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment, ensuring all works meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage subcontractor activities and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines.

  • Conduct site inspections and report on progress, identifying potential risks and proposing solutions.

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including electrical and civil engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.

  • Support procurement activities by reviewing material specifications and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with Swedish regulations and international data centre construction standards.

Key Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within construction, preferably in data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, cooling systems, and fire suppression.

  • Experience with BIM, AutoCAD, and other engineering design tools is an advantage.

  • Understanding of Swedish or European mechanical regulations and construction standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Willingness to relocate or work in Sweden for the duration of the project.

  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Swedish or another European language is an advantage.
