Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Lead - Data Centre Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Lead to join a strong team in Portugal and play a key role in delivering excellence in Data Centre projects.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design and engineering of HVAC, cooling, and other critical infrastructure systems for Data Centre projects.
• Oversee and guide a team of engineers in delivering high-quality mechanical solutions that meet client specifications, sustainability standards, and operational requirements.
• Ensure the implementation of best practices in energy efficiency and sustainability, including closed-loop and open-loop cooling systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project delivery from design to commissioning.
• Conduct technical assessments, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical systems to maintain high performance and reliability.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and trends, particularly around energy-efficient designs and innovations in cooling technologies.
• Support project management teams in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for mechanical engineering tasks.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure their requirements are fully understood and incorporated into the project design.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Data Centres or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and overseeing large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design, cooling systems, and energy-efficient solutions specific to Data Centres.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and European regulatory requirements.
• LEED/BREEAM certifications or experience with sustainable building practices is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Fluent in English; Portuguese language skills are a plus.
