Norway

We operate across several European countries, one of our key locations is Norway which is in the Northern part of the continent. Norway is a Nordic country which borders Sweden, Finland and Russia to the northeast and the Skagerrak Strait to the south. Norway is in the Scandinavian Peninsula. It boasts an extensive coastline which faces the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea.  

The capital of Norway is Oslo, the largest city in Norway. The total population of Norway was 5,488,984 as of January 2023. Norway has a Monarchy the current King is Harald V who has reigned purely symbolically and ceremonially in nature since 1991. Their political structure is made up of a Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre who is the leader of the Labour Party power is split between the parliament, the cabinet, and the supreme court.

The Norwegian currency remains the kroner however, Norway maintains strong connections with the European Union, fostering close ties and cooperation. Norway is within the EEA (European Economic Area) but is an EEA EFTA state (European Free Trade Association). Through the EEA Agreement, Norway, participates as an equal partner in the internal market, enjoying the same privileges as EU member states. This encompasses unrestricted access to the internal market's four freedoms: the free movement of goods, persons, services, and capital. Additionally, the Agreement extends cooperation into various vital domains, including research and development, education, social policy, the environment, consumer protection, tourism, and culture.

Norway holds significant ownership stakes in crucial industrial sectors, boasting substantial reserves in petroleum, natural gas, minerals, timber, seafood, and freshwater. Approximately one-quarter of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) is attributed to the petroleum industry. Norway is the leading per-capita oil and natural gas producer globally, excluding the Middle East. There are many large corporations in Norway including Equinor, DNB, Aker BP and Telenor.  In 2022, Norway secured the 17th position as the safest country in the world, making it an appealing choice for potential expatriates considering a move. Beyond its safety ranking, Norway stands out for its active outdoor lifestyle, low crime rate, universal healthcare system, and its well-established reputation as an excellent place to raise a family.
