Our Client


We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in the data centre industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems that ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency within our state-of-the-art data centres across the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Lead the design and specification of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and fire protection systems, tailored to the unique requirements of data centres.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
  • System Optimization: Perform detailed calculations and simulations to optimize the performance of mechanical systems, focusing on energy efficiency and reliability.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all mechanical designs comply with local regulations, industry standards, and best practices, including ASHRAE, ISO, and EU directives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated and efficient solutions.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their specific needs and provide technical expertise in the development of tailored mechanical solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control processes throughout the design and construction phases to ensure the highest standards are met.
  • Sustainability: Promote and integrate sustainable practices into mechanical designs, aiming for certifications like LEED and BREEAM.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in the data centre industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of HVAC systems, cooling technologies, and fire protection in the context of data centres.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and simulation tools (e.g., CFD, energy modeling).
  • Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
  • Project Experience: Proven track record of managing large-scale data centre projects in a multinational environment.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
